After
completion of his fellowship training in Atlanta, Dr. Lasa proceeded
to complete a second fellowship training program at the Mt.
Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, under the tutelage
of Dr. Bahman Guyuron, a distnguished plastic surgeon in the
field of aesthetic surgery and craniomaxillofacial surgery and
Department Chairman of Plastic Surgery at Mt. Sinai.
Dr.
Lasa later worked as a surgical associate at the Fair Oaks Hospital
in Fairfax, Virginia, where he was able to train under the leading
plastic surgeons in the metropolitan tri-state areas of Virginia,
Maryland and the District of Columbia. Concurrently, Dr. Lasa
was also chosen to organize and head the pioneering bone research
program of the American Red Cross Tissue Services based at the
Holland Laboratory for the Biomedical Sciences in Rockville,
Maryland.
Dr.
Lasa has authored several research papers which have been published
in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, the most
prestigious and widely read plastic surgery journal in the world.
He has been invited as speaker in various international conferences
and to enhance his expertise, he regularly attends various seminars
worldwide, where new techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery
are introduced.
Dr.
Lasa regularly volunteers his time and expertise to perform
reconstructive surgery on children born with cleft lip and other
deformities. He is a member of Physicians
For Peace, a private volunteer organization that seeks world
peace and international goodwill by providing quality medical
care to those in need.
Dr.
Lasas accomplishments have earned him citations from the
prestigious international Marquis Whos Who.
